The majority of our courses are based in Scotland but over the past few
years we have been asked to provide courses throughout the British Isles
including Newcastle, Oxford, Cheltenham and “overseas” to Belfast,
Cork and Dublin!
(If we do not currently have a course scheduled in your area, please contact
us and we will let you know if we are to be in your region).
The courses are held in central locations and are timetabled between 9.30am and 4pm allowing travel time for those coming from outwith the area.
Our Edinburgh and Glasgow venues are accessible from all over the UK with
the introduction of economy airline flights to both cities.
Booking of advance Apex fares also makes train travel very cost effective.
EDINBURGH
When we were looking for a suitable venue in Edinburgh, we were delighted
to find the excellent facilities provided at St
Colm's House. This is where "World Exchange" is based - a
volunteer programme organised by the Church of Scotland, and the reason
one of our TREC lecturers found herself working in Pakistan for a couple
of years! We are always guaranteed a warm welcome by the staff and superb
catering from Ulla! This venue can also provide very reasonably priced B&B
accommodation.
GLASGOW
The Sir Patrick Hamill Education
Centre, in the grounds of St Margaret's Hospice in Glasgow, is a recent
addition to our venue options. This purpose-built facility is available
for training courses and is ideal for our TREC needs.
INVERNESS
The teaching facilities available at Highland
Hospice in the centre of Inverness, are the perfect location for the
TREC courses.
DUNKELD
We are pleased to have introduced courses in the beautiful setting of the
Birnam Arts Centre - next to the
village of Dunkeld (just north of Perth on the A9). The courses here will
run from 10.00am - 5pm allowing easy travel from Inverness, Dundee, Perth,
Glasgow, Edinburgh….and anywhere in between! The railway station at Dunkeld
is 2 minutes walk from the centre, and for anyone requiring overnight accommodation
there are ample B&Bs and hotels. This is a beautiful part of the world -
one of our favourite venues!
WINCHESTER - the historic setting of Winchester Cathedral is where you will find the Paul Woodhouse Suite set within the tranquil Visitors' Centre. Only 10 minutes walk from the railway station so a perfect venue for our visits "down south"
LEEDS - we look forward to our first visit to Leeds in September 07. The facilities provided by the Conference Centre at St Gemma's Hospice are ideal for our TREC course needs. You will have noticed that we always prefer to use small independent venues rather than the big hotels!
NEWCASTLE - the teaching and conference facilities within the Castle Leazes building (Fenwick Room) are ideal for our TREC courses. They are part of Newcastle University campus in the Spital Tongues area of the city, and across the park from the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
