There is no denying that the world of travel medicine is a very different place at the moment. Although all our face to face training courses in the spring had to be postponed, over the summer we dipped our toe in the world of Zoom and rescheduled them all. A huge part of TREC is the interaction between all of you and our presenters and we didn’t want to lose that by moving online. Although it will never replace face to face, using Zoom meant that we could still deliver the full course content, display the presentations and still be able to allow those attending, the opportunity to interrupt and ask questions. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive so we have released new dates for our 2 day course (for those of you that are new to travel health) and our popular update day (for those of you that have already undertaken previous travel health training). We will always prefer delivering our training in person but until we are out the other end of the pandemic, it is just not possible.
Some of you will be familiar with TREC if you have previously attended any of our courses. For those that haven’t, TREC is a small business, run by myself (Clare) and supported by a small team of incredible travel health professionals. Everyone has had their own stresses and challenges thrown at them during this pandemic yet those booked on the courses that had to be postponed, showed nothing other than kindness and concern for me and those that help to deliver the TREC training. It made some incredibly difficult decisions a bit more bearable. Please can I say a heartfelt thank you for the understanding and support that so many of you offered.
