TREC Immunisation Update Day – ‘Getting to the Point’
This study day has been developed in response to requests from health care professionals who require general immunisation training but are not working in the field of travel health. The training will run from 0900-1630.
The content is based on training requirements as recommended within the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training Guidance. We will concentrate the information on UK adult vaccines e.g. Hep B, Flu, Varicella, Tetanus etc so anticipate that it will be of relevance to occupational health staff or any other health care professionals providing immunisation and vaccine advice to adults. Please note that travel risk assessment is not covered on this course. This is covered on our Travel Health Course.
Current issues in immunisation
Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease
Any changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy
Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
Legal issues relevant to vaccination
Review of current practice, recent vaccine incidents and identification of areas for improvement
Q&A session for problems encountered in practice
Anaphylaxis and adverse reactions (includes CPR)
